I moved to the South Hams in 2005, having lived and worked in Oxfordshire for 25 years.
Having a love of drawing since childhood led me into concentrating on painting at A level and I
intended to specialise in this when I trained as a primary school teacher.
An inspirational ceramics tutor, however, changed my pathway and working with clay became a
passion and my main subject for three years during my college years.
Having spent many years bringing up my family I returned to teaching and worked on a variety of
projects involving dance and drama in schools in Oxfordshire.
Several years ago I was involved in an annual event called “ Art In Action “ [ at Waterperry, Oxon]
and worked in the gallery there which was opened to showcase art work throughout the year.
Studying for a City and Guilds Watercolour course helped me to return to painting and encouraged
me to introduce mixed media and different art techniques to my work.
In my printmaking I have been exploring drypoints, collagraphs, etchings and mono prints.
My inspiration comes from my garden, the landscape and beautiful coast around where I live.
I exhibit my work locally, in Dorset and Bedfordshire.
